EXAMPLE 1
The EXAMPLE HOSPITAL, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, in CITY, STATE has an employment opportunity in a growing practice for a full time OB/GYN Generalist. The successful applicant will be an Academic Generalist who shows a strong commitment to clinical care, teaching, and research. The Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology has a strong community-based clinical program within the context of an academic environment. The ideal candidate will be energetic, motivated, and committed to outstanding patient care and education, and will be an established clinician with X or greater years’ experience in general obstetrics and gynecology. Recent graduates from an accredited residency programs are also encouraged to apply. The candidate should be comfortable teaching and managing operative vaginal deliveries, complications of intrapartum obstetrics, and gynecologic emergencies. The candidate will be challenged to provide quality care in on- and off-campus locations. Board certification or Active Candidate status with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology is required.  Academic Rank will be commensurate with the qualifications and achievements of the individual. The Department of OB/GYN is a multi-disciplinary health team and is responsible for providing comprehensive and age appropriate care to inpatients and outpatients.

EXAMPLE 2
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at XYZ Hospital, primary affiliate of ABC University School of Medicine in CITY, STATE, is seeking a full-time obstetrician-gynecologist for our Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology. Faculty member will be responsible for clinical care in general obstetrics and gynecology including labor & delivery, outpatient care, and gynecological surgery, with oversight and teaching of medical students and residents. Applicant must possess an MD from an accredited medical school, be board certified or eligible, and be eligible to obtain an STATE Medical License. Applicant must be able to work cooperatively and collegially within diverse environments, and to adhere to policies and procedures. Salary and faculty rank will be based upon experience and qualifications.

EXAMPLE 3
The XYZ Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology seeks a Division Director for the Generalist Division, who will lead the clinical, administrative, educational, and research goals of the generalist division, which includes two fellowship programs.  The position will also hold either a tenure-track or non-tenure-track faculty rank of Associate Professor or Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

– In partnership with the Head of the Department, develop a comprehensive strategy and plan for the growth and development of the section’s clinical, educational, and research activities.

– In partnership with the Department Head and Director of Administrative Operations, manage the Administrative, Finance, Research, and Clinical operations for the section.

– Develop section’s faculty with emphasis on quality, effectiveness and efficiency.

– Participate in the clinical services initiatives of the University of XYZ Hospital & Health Sciences System.

– Promote service and investigation related to underserved populations.

– Participate in the direct supervision and training of faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students.

Qualifications:

MD or equivalent degree required, plus board certification in general OB-GYN.  Minimum of two years of experience in an administrative position required.  Demonstrated leadership skills necessary to complement and expand clinical translational program.
