The Mountain Area Health Education Center, Department of OB/GYN, in Asheville, North Carolina has a Generalist employment opportunity to join an Academic-Community hybrid program of OB/GYN generalists (11), five Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, one Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist, ten Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Midwives, and sixteen OB/GYN residents. 
We are seeking an OB/GYN generalist who has an interest in clinical research. Clinical research interest areas in rural health, health care disparities, opioid epidemic, or other large issues in population health would fit well in our practice and current research priorities. We have a catchment area of 16 counties and see a wide range of healthcare issues. Our institution has a Family Medicine residency program, and is adding Psychiatry and General Surgery July 2017. 

In clinical practice we have a busy labor and delivery as well as GYN practice. We focus on teaching and team based care. Our practice provides leadership in the clinical setting for the entire region. Our department offers some flexibility in terms of a specific niche of clinical or educational interest, but a commitment to both obstetrics and gynecology is a must.

In addition to clinical and teaching opportunities our community and health system offers many leadership roles in quality, information technology, administration, and resident education. Employment includes clinical appointment to the University of North Carolina Department of OB/GYN.
Hospital is a regional referral center and performs ~ 4000 births per year with a full range of sub-specialists in GYN and other medical/surgical specialties.
