The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at TTUHSC El Paso is seeking an experienced OB/GYN to serve as Division Chief of the General Obstetrics and Gynecology Division. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC EP) invites applications for a qualified physician at the Associate Professor or Full Professor rank. TTUHSC EP Generalist Division has a busy clinical practice, and is active in research and education. The successful candidate will be involved with clinical teaching and clinical research responsibilities including off campus clinics. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the education and surgical training of medical students, residents and fellows in the clinic, classroom, labor and delivery, and operating room. This is a full-time position. 
Founded in 1973, TTUHSC El Paso is the only health sciences center along the U.S.-Mexico border that provides the opportunities and environment for direct intellectual and interpersonal exchanges among nursing, medical, and graduate research students on one campus. It is the fourth university in the Texas Tech University System and is comprised of three schools: the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing and the Graduate School of Biomedical Science. The physicians, clinics, and partnering hospitals provide over $33 million in free healthcare services to the El Paso community every year.

The Department is represented by all the major subspecialties in obstetrics and gynecology. The ACGME-accredited residency program has 5 residents per year for a total of 20 residents. Chief Obstetrics & Gynecology Opportunity

• Associate or Full Professor rank.
• Committed to an academic career in general obstetrics and gynecology
• Full-time, employed position.
• Provide supervisory oversight of Generalists and mid-level providers assigned to the clinical practice location.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for Labor & Delivery and Ambulatory Center.
• Expected to serve the University in areas of teaching, research and clinical service appropriate to their training
• Combination of clinical (approx. 28 hrs/week); administrative/teaching /research (approx.12 hrs/week)

Minimum Candidate Qualifications

• M.D. degree.
• Completion of residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas.
• Preference for strong surgical experience with emphasis on patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Candidates with an academic niche or advanced training in Family Planning/Colposcopy/ Ultrasound or other expertise in a gynecology specialty area who is looking for a leadership position would be strongly considered.
• Qualification for academic rank at Associate Professor or Full Professor level.
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Must have academic and leadership experience.
