The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks an OB/GYN Physician with a strong commitment to

patient care and medical education. This is a 100% FTE position.



The Division of General OB/GYN Specialists has clinical, educational and research responsibilities that must be

met.  As members of the University of Hawai’i, John A. Burns School of Medicine faculty, the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health, we are dedicated to working together to meet those responsibilities in a professional, caring and enthusiastic manner.


As a member of this Division, responsibilities will be primarily:


  • Four and half (4.5) days per week, equal to 90% FTE, of clinical daytime coverage at UHP faculty practice locations, inpatient/outpatient sites and community clinics. These locations can include Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children (KMCWC), Pali Momi Medical Center and Queens Medical Center (QMC), as well as other inpatient, outpatient sites and contracted health centers.


Support for Medical Student, OB/GYN residents, fellows and associated clinical instruction is expected at all of these sites.


  • Night and weekend call coverage will also be expected and determined based on coverage needs.


  • Unrestricted OB/GYN privileges at KMCWC, Pali Momi and QMC.


  • One half (0.5) day per week of flexible administrative/academic time, equal to 10% FTE:

a.   To allow for timely charting, billing, and patient related follow-up

b.   Serve as a core faculty for OB/GYN resident and student education

c.   Regular attendance at the following meetings and activities:

                                               i.     Monthly Faculty Meetings

                                             ii.     Participation in division activities

                                           iii.     Participating in medical student and residents’ education programs

                                            iv.     Community education


  • Complies with all legal requirements and company policies.


  • Share in any and all other duties, as the need arises, and as determined by the Department Chair in order to meet the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Division, Department, and Medical School.



  • MD Degree or equivalent medical degree from a medical school of recognized standing.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.
  • Board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Must have a current Hawaii medical license.
  • Demonstrated ability in teaching and patient care.
