Duties include:

  • Provides patient education and counsel appropriate to the medical needs of the patient.
  • Maintains current licensure and continuing medical education credits as required by Maryland State Law.
  • Communicates with other physicians about patient treatments/therapy.
  • High risk OB with signification medical acuity
  • Full MIGS including Robotics
  • Hysteroscopy, Ablution, Colposcopy
  • Refers patients to appropriate specialists as necessary: Resources and Hospital Support: Primary Care, Urology, MFM, GYNONC – readily accessible


Hours: Monday - Friday 8:a -3:30p 4 Office Days with Rotating Evening and Weekend Call

Salary: First TWO (2) years income guarantee

Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department

The Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group and the University of South Carolina are seeking a physician leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn). This individual should be a practicing Ob/Gyn physician and should be eligible to receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the USC School of Medicine Columbia.

The department chair will partner with the Prisma Health Senior Medical Director for the Women’s Health Service line as they jointly promote the delivery of high quality care and the ongoing improvement of service delivery. The department chair will take primary responsibility for promoting the academic mission of the department, hiring of employed physicians, and managing day to day practice operations, with the support of the Senior Medical Director.

  • Collaborative, flexible, adaptable, and able to provide strong leadership during times of change; possesses the vision and the sensitivity to sustain a cultural transformation process consistent with the mission and values of Palmetto Health and the School of Medicine.
  • Serve as the academic leader of the Department of Ob/Gyn for the Medical Group, managing the educational and research operations of the department.
  • In cooperation with administrative leaders of the Ob/Gyn department, lead the daily operations of Ob/Gyn clinical service delivery.
  • Promote a spirit of inquiry and improvement among physicians, trainees, and other team members in the Ob/Gyn Dept. through encouragement of lifelong learning, support for involvement in research, and participation in quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrates an accomplished history of professional leadership and experience in women’s health professional organizations.
  • Must hold an academic appointment of Associate Professor or above. An academic appointment of Professor or eligible for professor is preferred. Must be a practicing Board Certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The Division of General Obstetrics & Gynecology at Stony Brook Medicine is recruiting two full-time faculty members at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor rank to join a busy academic practice with an established history of excellence. Position responsibilities include clinical care of outpatients, inpatient deliveries, surgeries, and involvement in medical student, resident, and fellow education. The second position also includes the responsibilities for leading our Global Women's Health Program. We consider Global Women's Health to be a cornerstone of our academic mission and we are excited to find someone who shares our passion and can help advance our curriculum and strength our ties with the international women's health community.

The Department encompasses faculty in each of the recognized specialties, an accredited Residency program, an accredited Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine and a two-year Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery Fellowship. The faculty are active in all areas of clinical care, education and research.

Stony Brook University Hospital is the tertiary care center for Suffolk County, the Regional Trauma Center, and the Regional Perinatal Center with over 4200 deliveries per year. It is a 603 bed hospital which is in the process of a $500 million expansion, with a new Children's Hospital and a 500,000 square foot clinical and research space.

Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience, and, qualifications that meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure Committee.
